Senior Officer, Underwriting Services (General Insurance)

Your role
As a Senior Officer, your main responsibilities will involve:
  • Provide support to the underwriter in the areas of underwriting operations, procedures, policy endorsement and policy issuance
  • Interact on a daily basis with brokers and customers for their assigned accounts to assure that all aspects and deadlines of delivery are fulfilled
  • Work on underwriting cases with proper guidance including client facing on business activity
  • Responsible for the follow up of premium payment, claims flow and cash collection
  • Computing rates and premiums for policies, compiling appropriate declarations, coverage forms, national/local forms, and optional endorsements, to complete the assigned policies
  • Review risk in support of underwriting decisions and work on claims analysis and put up PPT for underwriter approval
  • Supports underwriters and relationship leaders in the negotiation of service level agreements with customers and brokers in non-standard renewal
  • Attends internal and external meetings and monitors service relevant business decisions made at meetings to ensure each decision is acted upon in accordance with the outcome of the meeting
  • Able to handle the daily work and tasks of a domestic customer with low complexity/standard renewals with occasional support from a more senior colleague or underwriter
  • Support on training with outsource team to provide training manual and monitor the ongoing progress

Your Skills and Experience

As a Senior Officer, your skills and qualifications will ideally include:
  • Diploma or above with minimum 5 years of working experience in General Insurance programme
  • Good knowledge in various office computer software, MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint
  • Capable of communication in English both in writing and speaking
  • Previous working experience in underwriting an advantage
