Senior Officer / Claims Officer, Employees' Compensation (General Insurance)

Location: Hong Kong

Your role
As a Senior Claims Officer, your main responsibilities will involve:
  • Handle the Employees’ Compensation claims with focus on liability, investigation and in-house global settlement
  • Ensure claims procedures, documentation is adhered to the group claims management requirement and best practice
  • Meet with clients for claims review meeting
  • Work with our healthcare specialist in minimizing claims duration, build relationship with all stakeholders and achieve compromised settlement to conclude the case at the earliest and avoid litigation
  • Report to Claims Manager on adverse trend of development of claims and clients with adverse claims experience
  • Assist Claims Manager to monitor and conduct assessment of the performance of external loss adjuster whose services form part of claims services
  • Supervise and coach junior staff on claims management
  • Promptly handle Employees’ Compensation litigated claims and take responsibility to resolve all enquiries from both customer and external contacts to ensure delivery of a focused, quality and professional claims service
  • Develop a claim case strategy to ensure appropriate reserves are assigned, investigations conducted and appropriate suppliers engaged
  • Acquire and efficiently organize the relevant evidence and information to accurately assess the value of the litigated claim and to recognize potential fraud/recovery indicators and cases
  • Review, resolve and proactively finalize employees’ compensation claims within authority limits ensuring settlement at an optimum level

 

 

Your Skills and Experience
 
As a Senior Claims Officer, your skills and qualifications will ideally include:
  • Minimum 5 years of Employees' Compensation claims management experience is a must
  • Currently undertaking or have completed the LLB degree / Legal Executive qualification with ANZIIF/ACII an asset
  • Supervision experience and medical knowledge is an asset
  • Previous handling corporate client, global settlement experience would be an asset
  • Knowledge in legislation, legal liability and legal procedure of Employees’ Compensation litigated case and Employees’ Compensation Ordinance in Hong Kong
  • Candidates with less experience will be considered as Claims Officer
