Manager, Market & Master Data Management

Location: Hong Kong

The Market & Master Data (MMD) team is playing an important role transforming data into a business values which supports business strategies and decision making.  Being the leader of the team, you are responsible for managing all organizational and service aspects of the regional data management.  You lead, direct, support and develop the regional team of MMD to govern, process and distribute all the financial / investment related master data / pricing as well as supporting the independent asset valuations for Zurich's global investments.  If you are interested in working in a dynamic, challenging environment, for a company that recognizes and rewards your creativity, initiative and contributions, just simply click "Apply online".

Your Role 
  • Lead the team to ensure all daily business and closing deliverables in terms of reference data and pricing are met
  • Facilitate, coordinate and carry out due diligence for the new investment mandate / asset manager ensuring sound operational readiness in areas of Reference Data / Pricing, Accounting and Operation
  • Oversee and improve the effectiveness of the Global Data Governance & Control Framework to sustain data quality and reliability in all provided services
  • Manage and oversee documentation of regional process embedded in the Zurich's governance and risk frameworks (e.g. Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX), Risk and Control Engine (RACE), etc.) to ensure risk compliance
  • Manage and follow up on audit requirements and deliverables, SOX and RACE topics to ensure compliance and timely closure
  • Review, design and drive improvement / automation on all existing processes to minimize manual processes and high risk areas, as well as to enhance the data quality, integrity and consistency in the data supply chain
  • Establish and maintain relationships with local and regional stakeholders to gather regular feedback and facilitate any new or updated requirements, to achieve customer satisfaction and meet service goals
  • Deliver project support by providing functional expertise, process engineering know-how to assure project deliveries and smooth business hand-over
  • Manage knowledge transfer across all regions to eliminate know-how silos and gaps to ensure the daily business and perform closings are smoothly operated in the regions
Your Skills and Experience  
  • Degree holder in Finance or relevant disciplines
  • Qualification in CFA, FRM and/or business intelligence is preferable
  • Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in financial / banking / insurance industry
  • Sound Experience in data flow, interface management and data model design
  • Good people management skills
  • Familiar with reading and producing data models
  • Experience in EDM applications like GAIN / CADIS is an advantage
  • Familiar with terminal products of Bloomberg, Thomson Reuters or similar data vendors
  • Deep knowledge of traditional and non-traditional financial instruments and markets including structured securities, especially complex instruments like ABS/MBS, index linked bonds, syndicated loans
  • Excellent command in both written and spoken English and Chinese
