As a Claims Manager, your main responsibilities will involve:
Take responsibility to resolve all enquiries from both customer and external contacts to ensure delivery of a focused, quality and professional claims service
Ensure claims procedures, documentation is adhered to the group claims management requirement and best practice
Proactively monitor employees’ compensation claims to minimize claims settlement
Conduct in-house global settlement
Build up relationship with all stakeholders and achieve compromised settlement to conclude the case at the earliest and avoid litigation
Meet with clients for claims review meeting
Work with our healthcare specialist in minimizing claims duration
Report to Senior Claims Manager on adverse trend of development of claims and clients with adverse claims experience
Assist Senior Claims Manager to monitor and conduct assessment of the performance of external loss adjuster whose services form part of claims services
Set and monitor reserve adequately and timely and ensure the authoritative level laid down are complied with
Supervise and coach junior staff on claims management, including reserve and settlement amount approval of junior staff with lower authority
Acquire and efficiently organizes the relevant evidence and information to accurately assess the value of the litigated claim and to recognize potential fraud/recovery indicators
Assist Head of EC Claims / Senior Claims Manager on departmental ad hoc tasks and projects
Your Skills and Experience
As a Claims Manager, your skills and qualifications will ideally include:
Tertiary education in Health, Insurance, Business Administration or Legal area
Minimum 6 years’ of Employees’ Compensation claims management experience with previous supervision experience
With medical knowledge or ANZIIF/ACII qualifications added advantage
Previous handling corporate client and global settlement would be an asset
Understand legislation and legal liability
Interpretation of policy cover
Understand industry standards and protocol
Knowledge of insurance principles, claims agreements, Employees’ Compensation Ordinance and legal procedure of Employees’ Compensation litigated case in Hong Kong
