Position Summary
The Head of Visa Performance Solution, North East Asia, will engage with leaders at Visa's client organizations to develop and deliver consulting projects that enable our clients to drive the performance of their payments business. This role is responsible for growing VPS client engagements in Hong Kong, Taiwan and South Korea. The incumbent must be able to develop enduring, strategic relationships with clients, and will be a member of the Visa Performance Solutions leadership team.
Potential projects could include portfolio management diagnostics, assessments of digital product and marketing strategies, development of industry landscape evaluations and best practices, and optimizing client customer experience and supporting processes. We are looking for motivated individuals who will provide strategic thought leadership and insights to clients.

  • Grow the Visa and Visa Performance Solutions business by proactively engaging with clients in regular strategic discussions; drive awareness of VPS solutions
  • Cultivate and manage a pipeline of work; plan and organize pipeline, delivery of solutions, resolutions to complex projects and allocate team resources to execute the required commitments
  • Develop frameworks and approaches, and perform deep analyses, to enable clients to address opportunities and tackle challenges
  • Undertake client projects, including project road mapping, client interviewing, analytical review of inputs, structuring of recommendations, report writing; assign engagements and provide direction to other team members
  • Bring deep subject matter expertise to bear in undertaking engagements such as portfolio strategy, portfolio diagnostics, and cardholder lifecycle health checks
  • Foster partnership with other functional areas, ensuring alignment of opportunities and recommendations, and collaborate across Visa to bring the relevant expertise to help address client needs


We are looking for a superstar consultant with payment cards expertise, or a rock star payment card portfolio expert who can consult. We would like multiple language skills, an ability to connect with people in banks, and work hard to deliver for our clients. 
  • Minimum 15 years' experience in retail banking payments or consulting to clients in this domain. 
  • Deep understanding of card issuers' P&L and critical factors in driving profitability, together with experience in payment card portfolio management
  • Superior analytical and problem solving skills, with demonstrated intellectual and analytical rigor.
  • Experience in and passion for the power of analytics to inform and drive strategy and tactics, and proven ability to generate insights from data
  • Intellectual versatility, with command of concepts, trends and potential developments across technology, regulation, competition, as well as domain knowledge of portfolio management, marketing, product management, operations, risk management
  • Global or multi-national business experience strongly preferred (e.g. with a major bank from a mature cards market)
  • Language skills –  Mandarin or Korean is a strong plus
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and manage relationships, and ability to influence and negotiate with senior executives.

  • Self-starter and able to operate independently, without detailed direction
  • Very detailed oriented, is expected to ensure highest level of quality/rigor in reports and data analysis

  • An understanding of statistical analysis, modeling, scoring schemes, etc.
  • Excellent communicator, with strong English written and verbal skills
  • Strong academic credentials, with relevant undergraduate degree and MBA or graduate degree preferred
