Assistant Category Manager / Category Manager
Manage licensing business in consumer products for the market: Support Category Manager in development and implementation of Strategic Business Plans for consumer product business. Develop appropriate local market category plans & strategies consistent with Global and Regional goals and objectives. Help drive Hong Kong licenses in multiple categories especially those with corporations that are best in the industry. Monitor each industry trends, rules, performance; retail channel market conditions; collection of market/consumer/retail trend and information analysis to determine Disney’s strategies and plans. Develop, implement and achieve 5 year Strategic Plans and annual budgets (wholesales sales, earned revenues, total revenues and operating income) Identify & contract new licensees/ renew existing licensees to develop category Identify consumer, product, property, and channel gaps and execute plans to fill gaps and grow business. Ensure licensees fully understand and are in compliance with Disney’s business standards and regulations. Work with product development/creative team to achieve sales target through compelling products plans, ongoing product quality improvements, and retail marketing excellence. Develop and implement retail plans to grow business. Work closely with key retail account buyers/RSM to manage Disney’s product range and presence at retail. Work closely with RSM to implement retail marketing, promotions, and events to enhance brand image and consumer awareness. Responsibilities Strategic Management Develop, implement and provide reporting on appropriate local market category plans & strategies consistent with Global and Regional goals and objectives. Monitor apparel industry trends, rules, performance; retail channel market conditions; collection of market/consumer/retail trend and information analysis to determine Disney’s strategies and plans Determine category key drivers (product, price, and retail channel) for DCP to expand presence consistent with local demographic and retailer needs. Contribute to regional / global discussion of the category on behalf of the local market. Licensing Develop, implement and achieve 5 year and annual revenue budgets (wholesale sales, earned revenues, total revenues and OI). Identify & contract new licensees/ renew existing licensees to develop category (including global and regional licensees). Identify consumer, product, property, and channel gaps and execute plan to fill gaps and growth business. Update sales forecast by licensee on a monthly basis, monitor & report progress on quarterly basis to regional. Coordinate Contract Renewals consistent with category plans. Partner & collaborate with key licensees for category development & business growth. Conduct “Top Licensee” performance reviews(quarterly) and strategic meeting when needed. Work with licensees to ensure appropriate quality and execution of product development process – STR programs and retail execution. Coordinate with DCP ILS Compliance Group to ensure licensees comply with Disney’s ILS labor standards. Ensure licensees’ thorough understanding and compliance of Disney’s contract, terms and conditions. Identify and develop manufacturing centers of excellence (global and regional). Ensure licensees develop quality products under Disney’s business standards and regulation. Product Development Direct & collaborate with Product Development team to create & execute category plans and ongoing product quality improvements. Coordinate licensee’s product / artwork approvals with Product Development team. Retail Work with RSM team to manage Disney’s product range and presence at retail. Act as communication link between RSM team and licensees. Identify signage and merchandising needs to Regional Creative lead. Finance Responsible for the category budget in the local market. Provide forecast of the category on monthly basis. Responsible for collection past due accounts receivable and monthly royalty statements. Responsible for the administration and execution of the contract. Marketing Coordinate with RSM team on marketing to support sales promotion, retail marketing events and advertising in the local market. Ensure appropriate licensees implement the Disney visual merchandising programs.
