Established by the Government in 1989, The Open University of Hong Kong (OUHK) has five schools, namely the School of Arts & Social Sciences, Lee Shau Kee School of Business & Administration, School of Education & Languages, School of Science & Technology, and the Li Ka Shing Institute of Professional & Continuing Education. Through them, we have been providing full-time and part-time programmes at undergraduate, post-graduate, and sub-degree levels.
Today we have over 9,000 full-time and 10,000 part-time students at OUHK with more than 220 programmes of studies. Based on the recent successful bidding from the Research Grant Council, the School of Education and Languages (E&L) has set up Research Institute for Bilingual Learning and Teaching (RIBiLT) in which we are now inviting application(s) for the following post:

The appointee will support the operation of the Research Institute for Bilingual Learning and Teaching; assist in the organization of the various programmes, workshops, conferences and other related activities; support the Distinguished Professors and other related academics in their respective research activities during their visits and handle subsequent follow-up work; assist academic staff in research activities; and provide administrative support to other research work as well as postgraduate research education including EdD, MPhil and PhD of the School.
Applicants should possess a recognized Bachelor’s degree; the ability to work independently; an investigative nature, good analytical and communication skills in both English and Chinese (preferably including Putonghua) as well as a detail-minded work attitude. Good knowledge of statistical software (e.g. SPSS) and experience in conducting academic research projects is preferred. Enthusiasm in academic writing will be an advantage.
Terms of Appointment
Initial appointment will be made on a full-time one-year fixed term contract. Contract renewal thereafter is subject to mutual agreement. Benefits will be provided in accordance with the statutory provisions, if applicable.
