Assistant Project Manager (Civil and Structural Engineering)

Location: Homantin

We are looking for seasoned professional with campus development experience to assist in the implementation of the University’s Sheung Shing Street Development Project (“the Project”) and to ensure that the Project is in good progress according to the timeframe and within the allowable budget.

We are now inviting application(s) for the following post in the Facilities Management Unit:

Assistant Project Manager (Civil and Structural Engineering) (Ref: 16-APM(C)-293-O)



The appointee(s) will be responsible for the planning, design and implementation of civil and structural engineering works for the Project. He/she will mainly be required to assist the Project Manager to i) provide professional advice and conduct study for the Project in terms of civil and structural design and works implementation; ii) liaise with and co-ordinate among internal users and external parties, including Government Departments, consultants and contractors, on relevant design, co-ordination and implementation of the works; iii) manage consultants and contractors’ works on design and implementation and supervise in-house technical staff members to ensure the Project shall be completed on-time within the financial budgets and at a quality standard; iv)prepare relevant works tender and contract documents; and v) provide support and report to the senior management of the Project.


Applicants should have i) a recognized Bachelor’s degree in Civil and Structural Engineering, or an equivalent qualification, and strong in civil and structural design and implementation works; ii) HKIE registered Civil/Structural Engineer or equivalent with minimum of 7 years’ postgraduate experience in construction industry. Experience in developer or client side is preferred; iii) good knowledge of statutory submission requirements and procedures; iv) good administration and communication skills including report writing skill in English and Chinese and a self-initiative team player; v) competence in the use of computer applications including AutoCAD and Microsoft Office; and vi) Experience in campus development, slope modification, construction of pedestrian footbridge an advantage.

Terms of Appointment

Successful candidate will be appointed on a full-time fixed term contract. Fringe benefits will include annual leave, medical & dental benefits, life insurance coverage and gratuity, where applicable.
