The appointee as Assistant Professor or Senior Lecturer will be mainly responsible for the planning, development, coordination and delivery of courses (including face-to-face and distance learning modes) in the area of English language proficiency, English language studies and applied English linguistics. Applicants who have experience in teaching and researching second language teaching and language assessment and testing are preferred. The appointee will also be required to engage in scholarly activities and participate in School/University activities and administration.

Applicants for the Assistant Professor should normally have an earned doctorate in English Language/English Language Education or a related discipline. They should also have relevant experience in school teaching and/or teacher or tertiary education, preferably including course administration, a record of research and peer-reviewed publications, involvement in professional and community activities. Preference will be given to applicants who possess knowledge of the Hong Kong education system, the English Language curriculum in local schools, as well as a teaching qualification. Applicants without a doctorate will be considered for the post of Senior Lecturer.

Terms of Appointment
Successful candidate will be appointed on a full-time fixed term contract. Fringe benefits will include annual leave, medical & dental benefits, life insurance coverage and gratuity, where applicable.
