Administration Manager/Academic Service Officer (Project)
Location: Kwai Hing
As one of the five academic units of the OUHK, the LiPACE is a dynamic, market-oriented and fast growing continuing education provider. With the mission of promoting life-long learning, the LiPACE offers a variety of flexible and high-quality educational opportunities, with an emphasis on face-to-face teaching, to the public for personal development, career advancement and appreciation of life. These include professional and training programmes, full-time programmes (e.g. Diploma Yi Jin, Diploma and Higher Diploma), full-time/part-time degree and masters programmes in collaboration with overseas institutions, and the Capacity Building Mileage Programme (a flexible learning project designed to equip women with a positive mindset and develop their potentials) in collaboration with the Women’s Commission.
The University is undertaking a 2-year project funded by Quality Enhancement Support Scheme (QESS) under the Self-financing Post-secondary Education Fund. The project aims to establish a sustainable delivery of an enhanced internship scheme, with more job opportunities and better quality of internship learning that can develop students’ employability skills and competence.
We are now inviting application(s) for the following posts in the LiPACE:
Administration Manager/Academic Service Officer (Project) (Ref.: 16-AM-283-O)
The appointee will i) assist in project administration and project implementation; ii) develop and implement marketing strategies on employers’ networks to enhance the internship programmes for the students within the University; iii) coordinate and liaise with potential employers & industrial partners, both locally & overseas, for the job opportunities as well as facilitate the recruitment and matching of candidates; iv) provide post-recruitment support to intern supervisors to manage the internship experience; v) conduct pre-placement training for students and facilitate students to maximize their workplace learning; vi) collect feedback from employers & interns and feed the insight gained for development of marketing & course materials relevant to the discipline focus; and vii) collect data to gauge the project outcomes e.g. user satisfaction/perception, learning outcomes and development of employability, etc. Some travelling within and outside Hong Kong is expected.
Applicants should have a recognized degree with at least 2 years’ relevant post-qualification working experience. Good communication, interpersonal and organisational skills and the ability to work independently are required. They should also be proficient in written and spoken English and Chinese (fluency in Putonghua is an advantage). Preference will be given to those with experience in career counselling service and internship programmes in tertiary institutions. Candidates with less experience will be considered for the post of Academic Service Officer (Project).
Terms of Appointment
Successful candidates will be appointed on a full-time fixed term contract. Fringe benefits will include annual leave, medical & dental benefits, life insurance coverage, where applicable.
