Specialist (Teaching Technology & Multimedia Support) (Ref. 16092715-IE) 


The appointee will be required to: 

(a)  carry out day-to-day management of The ZONE (Multimedia and Collaborative Centre); 

(b)  monitor and oversee the booking and use of both video-capture facility and collaborative learning stations; 

(c)  organise and facilitate demonstrations, open days, workshops and training sessions on the collaborative learning software and stations; 

(d)  support and develop teaching technology configurations;

(e)  oversee a team of part-time student instructors/demonstrators in The ZONE;

(f)   provide technical support for teaching technology; 

(g)  guide staff and students in the use of teaching technology equipment and resources; 

(h)  assist in the promotion of technology-assisted interactive and collaborative learning and teaching;

(i)   help evaluate the experience and effectiveness of teaching technology for staff and students; 

(j)   promote teaching technology installation including receiving visitors and organising tours; 

(k)  support development of other teaching technology needs, including live broadcasts of lectures, Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) and Small Private Online Courses (SPOCs); 

(l)   supervise part-time staff as and when required; 

(m) provide after-office-hour standby/emergency support duties as and when required; and 

(n)  perform any other duties as assigned by the Director of the Office or his delegates.


Applicants should: 

(a)  have a recognised degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or Multimedia Technology and with a background in education; 

(b)  have working experience in blended learning and/or involvement in educational technology projects is highly desirable; 

(c)  be proactive and able to work independently and as part of a team;

(d)  have strong analytical skills, good interpersonal and communication skills; and

(e)  be able to communicate effectively in both written and spoken English and Chinese.

Remuneration and Conditions of Service 

A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered.    Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract.  Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement.  Applicants should state their current and expected salary in the application.
