The appointee will be required to:

(a)       assist in the operation and facilities management of the two multi-purpose venues of the University, the 1025-seat Jockey Club Auditorium and the 244-seat Chiang Chen Studio Theatre, to ensure smooth running of all events in the venues;

(b)       serve both internal and external venue users, including departments, students, government offices, art and cultural groups, non-profit making, charitable and commercial organizations;

(c)       monitor the performance of contractors on venue guarding and cleaning services as well as repair and maintenance works;

(d)       serve as duty manager of the two venues;

(e)       ensure all operation arrangements of the two venues are in good order according to all licence and statutory requirements;

(f)        assist in the training of students to provide ushering and front-of-house services in a customer-oriented manner; and

(g)       perform any other duties as assigned by the Head of the Office or her delegates.

He/She will be required to work on irregular hours and on Sundays/public holidays.


Applicants should:

(a)       have a recognised degree/diploma/certificate plus not less than three years of relevant experience preferably in managing performing venues;

(b)       have a good command of English and Chinese, with proficiency in Putonghua;

(c)       possess good communication and interpersonal skills, and be customer-oriented; and

(d)       have good computer literacy.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for a written language proficiency test.  

Remuneration and Conditions of Service

A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered.  Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract.  Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement.  Applicants should state their current and expected salary in the application.
