The Innovation and Technology Development Office (ITDO) oversees (i) the advancement of major research and development initiatives with knowledge transfer potential as well as the management of intellectual property portfolio of the University; and (ii) the creation of new technology development and transfer opportunities through collaborative research/projects with the Government, non-government organizations, industry, and business communities. The ITDO supports the University’s mission to develop and apply technology arising from its research, resulting in the expanded use of University intellectual property in the Government, non-government organizations, industry, and business communities.
The appointee, under the supervision of the Director of Innovation and Technology Development or his delegates, will be required to:
(a) manage collaborative projects, programmes, and activities related to collaboration research and technology development;
(b) actively liaison with the academic and research community, industry, and various stakeholders to enable effective implementation of projects and initiatives set forth by the Office;
(c) be in charge of planning, organizing, coordinating and implementing events, meetings, seminars, workshops, projects, and various marketing activities of the Office; and
(d) perform any other duties as assigned by the Director of Office or his delegates.
The appointee will be required to work beyond normal office hours when necessary.
(a) have a recognized degree in a relevant area of Engineering, Science, and/or Business;
(b) possess at least five years of solid professional and relevant experience at supervisory level;
(c) have good understanding on technology transfer, event organization, and/or business development;
(d) be highly motivated, result-oriented, and be able to work under pressure;
(e) have a good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese (Cantonese and Putonghua); and
(f) possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for a written language proficiency test.
Remuneration and Conditions of Service
A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered. Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract. Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement. Applicants should state their current and expected salary in the application.
