Assistant Physical Education Officer (Ref. 17010309-E)


The appointee will be required to:

(a)  teach physical education courses and fitness training courses;

(b)  coach and manage sports teams;

(c)  assist in the administration of various areas of physical education and sports including:

  • serving as members of various focus groups in enhancing the quality of physical education courses and related programmes;
  • carrying out sectional marketing and publicity activities;
  • acting as advisers to the Student Union’s sports bodies and related activities;
  • launching the Outstanding Sportsmen Recommendation Scheme (OSRS);
  • conducting sports team training camps and workshops; and
  • coordinating the publication of the sports team newsletter.

(d)  assist in the Wellness in Action programme;

(e)  provide secretarial support to meetings;

(f)  liaise with internal and external organizations on the services provided by the Office; and

(g)  perform any other duties as assigned by the Head of Office or his/her delegates.


Applicants should have:

(a)  a recognised university degree with at least five years’ post-qualification working experience in physical education and sports;

(b)  the ability to communicate effectively in both written and spoken English and Chinese, including fluency in Putonghua;

(c)  sound knowledge of computer applications; and

(d)  good communication and interpersonal skills.

Remuneration and Condition of Service

A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered.  Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract.  Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement.  Applicants should state their current and expected salary in the application.
