Analyst Programmer (Ref. 16092610-E10)

Analyst Programmer (Ref. 16092610-E10)  
[to be appointed at the substantive post of Senior Analyst]


The appointee will be a member of the Administrative Application Services Section, which is responsible for developing, implementing and supporting the University’s central administrative systems including staff, student and finance-related systems.  The appointee will be required to:

(a)      analyse user requirements, perform system design, development, testing, implementation and related system support tasks;

(b)      prepare related system documentations; and

(c)      perform any other duties as assigned by the Director of the Office or his/her delegates.


Applicants should have:

(a)      a recognised degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related discipline;

(b)      at least five years’ post-degree working experience in applications development, with hands-on experience in the development and support of systems in the business areas concerned;

(c)      substantial experience in developing and implementing web applications using Java language on Java EE platform, WebSphere, Oracle RDBMS 11g, and preferably with knowledge of jQuery, Richfaces, JSF, EJB 3, and EclipseLink (JPA);

(d)      hands-on experience in implementing and supporting critical and heavy loading web-based applications;

(e)      strong analytical skills, good interpersonal and communication skills;

(f)       the ability to communicate effectively in both written and spoken English and Chinese; and

(g)      the ability to work under pressure and be proactive.
