Job Description

Assistant Community Relations Manager

You will:

  • cultivate and build a network of relationship with various district-based organizations, and keep contact with them with a view to enlisting their continued support of the Club’s and the Charities Trust’s proposed projects and/or programmes
  • monitor noteworthy developments in districts and collect community feedback of issues relating to the Club and the Charities Trust
  • help establish and serve District Liaison Group to strengthen the engagement and mutual communication with prominent stakeholders at district level
  • conduct research on issues relevant to the Club and the Charities Trust and set up a community database
  • prepare annual budget and undertake resource management duties as needed
  • work with other departments within the Club, and to provide community input with a view to facilitating their planning and implementation of district-based projects and/or programmes
  • perform other duties assigned by supervisors

Candidates with less experience will be considered as Senior Community Relations Officer.


You should have:

  • a recognized university degree in public administration, public/social policy, social/political science, translations, communications or related discipline and relevant qualifications and solid (at least 8 years) experience in cultivating and maintaining community relationships;
  • good knowledge of districts profile in Hong Kong and the various key stakeholders concerned;
  • proven record of collaboration with local organizations at district level, such as government departments, District Councils, Rural Committees, political parties and pressure groups;
  • experience in project management and execution of community programmes for different target groups;
  • self-confidence with strong communication and interpersonal skills, pleasant personality and interest in meeting people;
  • sensitive to social and political dynamics in districts;
  • resources management experience; able to work under pressure; and
  • high level of proficiency in written and spoken English and Chinese
