Workplace Architect

Job objectives:

  • Technical design and engineering, implementation, planning and quality for Infrastructure EUC and workplace architecture globally
  • Key technical authority for IT Infrastructure, EUC and Workplace services
  • Provide technical authority to the business
  • Scoping and evaluation of leading edge technologies in line with corporate objectives
  • Provide strategic direction of the IT Infrastructure providing to the business and operations teams both locally and globally
  • In-depth interaction with Telstra teams based in other business units to deliver and design services
  • Manage and conducting implementation of new solutions in infrastructure space, including ability to provide hand-on assistance
  • Ensuring the implementation of designs and architecture are created, updated and implemented correctly
  • Provide last line infrastructure technical support to the business
  • Aid with creation of implementations plans
  • Change management and planning for infrastructure projects, changes and implementations

Job Descriptions:

  • Technical product design, implementation, planning and quality for IT and Hosting/Cloud infrastructure
  • Lead architect and design authority
  • Technical platform ownership and availability
  • Technical leadership of IT Infrastructure, EUC and workplace solutions
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of Telstra product sets and available technology solutions related to Infrastructure, EUC and workplace solutions
  • Develop and advise on capacity plans
  • Carry out research on emerging technologies in support of development efforts; recommend technologies that will increase cost effectiveness, profitability and flexibility
  • Assist operations teams as required in problem management

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years' experience in workplace technology role at enterprise level
  • Knowledge of the managed cloud/infrastructure sector products and technologies
  • Knowledge / experience in design, installation, configuration, maintenance and support of IT/Hosting/Cloud infrastructure (Amazon Cloud Services (AWS), Azure and other cloud platforms, Microsoft Windows Server, VMware vSphere and ESX, etc)
  • Broad technical skills in the technologies above
  • Strong communication skills on a global scale
  • Technical leadership across multiple teams
  • Current vendor accreditation in at least one technical discipline
