Term / Temporary / Part-time Research Assistant I / II (Horticulture and Landscape Management)
The Technological and Higher Education Institute of Hong Kong (THEi) offers over 20 innovative degree programmes that are vocationally oriented and developed with significant industry input. All the programmes are accredited by the Hong Kong Council for Accreditation of Academic and Vocational Qualifications, and most are also accredited by the relevant professional bodies. In 2018/19, twelve programmes are in the Government’s Study Subsidy Scheme for Designated Professions / Sectors (SSSDP), which provides subsidies to students varying from $41,000 to $71,700 per year. The appointee shall report to the Principal Investigator (PI) of the project and is expected to assist the PI in the planning, development and co-ordination of research activities and seminars and daily operations of the project. He/she will be required to conduct field studies and data analysis; assist in drafting research proposals for external funding; and perform other research duties as assigned by the PI.
For the post of Term / Temporary / Part-time Research Assistant I, applicants should have a recognised degree, preferably a Master’s degree, in horticulture, forestry, biology, geography, environmental science or related fields, with relevant work experience.
For the post of Term / Temporary / Part-time Research Assistant II, applicants should have a recognised sub-degree, preferably a bachelor’s degree, in horticulture, forestry, biology, geography, environmental science or related fields.
Those with good organisation and interpersonal skills, and the ability to use library resources effectively will be an advantage. Fresh graduates of Master’s degree will also be considered.
(1) The appointee may be required to perform duties at different sites and work irregular hours, shifts and on Saturdays and Sundays.
(2) The remuneration package will be competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
