Assistant Actuarial Manager

Location: Hong Kong

Support and provide analysis on company’s risk appetite assessments.  Monitor solvency capital position for the company on both regulatory and economic capital basis.  Involve in the reporting of economic capital including the realistic valuation of cost of guarantee on a market-consistent basis. 


  • Responsible for the monitoring of the solvency capital position for the company on both regulatory and economic capital basis, including the reporting of asset / liability movements. Enhance the monitoring tools to facilitate further analyses to improve the understanding to the company business.

  • Perform risk appetite assessments and related analysis from both regulatory and economic capital perspectives within the company’s risk appetite framework, to support future business decisions according to the business plan.

  • Responsible for regular reporting of economic capital, including the calculation of cost of guarantee on a market-consistent basis and conducting the realistic valuation of the business.

  • Assist in enhancement of the risk appetite models, and internal capital projection model.

  • Engage with IFRS team to optimise valuation interest rates for the calculation of local statutory reserve.

Qualifications and Experience

  • University degree holder.

  • Fellow of Society of Actuaries, or other equivalent actuarial bodies.

  • Minimum of 6-7 years relevant working experience.


  • Strong technical and analytical skills and hands-on experience in financial reporting areas.

  • Familiar with Prophet and stochastic modelling.

  • Good interpersonal and communications skills with good command of spoken and written English.
