Senior Manager - Advisory - Consulting - People & Organization - HK

Location: Hong Kong

We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Manager with a strong Financial Services background to join our dynamic People & Organisation team in Hong Kong.
Our People & Organisation practice provides insight, advice and creative solutions to manage our clients’ biggest issues and realise their greatest opportunities in Asia and globally.

About the role
As an experienced P&O practioner and extended member of the P&O leadership team you will be responsible for managing multiple client engagements and internal commitments, helping to build the future pipeline of work and leading and developing the team to create a positive work environment.
You will work collaboratively across the broader consulting practice to build relationships and bring the People point of view to all engagements.  You will actively contribute to proposition development and thought leadership to further build our profile and differentiate ourselves in the market place.
The key responsibilities are:
 
  • Scope, plan and lead People & Organisation programs of work, supporting fee negotiations with clients
  • Build and lead high performing engagement teams to deliver high quality work to our clients and give our people a rewarding experience
  • Lead projects and manage issues appropriately to deliver assignments on-time and on budget
  • Build relationships with senior stakeholders to understand their people challenges, co-design and implement creative solutions, based on data and insights
  • Bring the best of the global PwC network to inform our recommendations and apply an innovation mindset to tailor solutions to meet client needs
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients during the project and as part of overall business development efforts
  • Work closely with other parts of management consulting in Hong Kong, China, and globally, to deliver joint projects and look for opportunities to support their clients
  • Actively contribute to business development, being engaged in client account teams and leading proposal preparation
  • Contribute to and lead, where appropriate, internal initiatives to support firm and practice development, including developing thought leadership and marketing materials, supporting recruitment activities, instructing Learning & Development trainings, or being a Champion of a firm priority
  • Provide ongoing coaching and mentoring to team members to support their continued growth and development
  • Create a supportive team environment that values diversity, is based on trust and recognises individual’s contributions
  • Demonstrate team leadership, championing the right course of action (informed by the firm’s values, ethics, and policies) and new solutions/best practices
Requirement
 
  • Minimum of 9 years relevant experience ideally gained in a consulting firm, internal consulting team for a commercial organisation or corporate Human Resources
  • Must be fluent in Cantonese (spoken) with excellent English (written and spoken); Spoken mandarin is also highly preferable
  • Significant experience of working in the financial services sector or with financial services clients on P&O solutions
  • Experience in the design and implementation of a range of P&O solutions; for example, change management and communications, operating model and organisation design, functional transformation
  • Knowledge of current change management, operating model and/or organisation design practices, trends and thought leadership
  • Proven ability to work with business stakeholders to translate their business strategies into the right people solutions to enable them to achieve their objectives
  • Business transformation (restructuring, start-up and relocation), post-merger integration and/ or systems implementation project experience preferable
  • Project, organisation and time management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Experience in managing, coaching and mentoring team members to develop a positive work environment
  • Ability to build and sustain client and internal relationships
  • Experience of working in multi-cultural environments
