International Development Consultant - Renewable Energy (Solar)

Location: Various

We are looking for senior consultants with expertise in Solar Powered Renewable Energy sectors to work on new donor funded projects in developing countries.  Expertise in the follow aspects of Renewable Energy are required:

  • Emission mitigation and low carbon growth
  • Renewable energy planning and business modelling
  • Clean energy generation and distribution
  • Disaster Risk Management
  • Monitoring & Evaluation of Renewable Energy programmes
  • Health and environmental impact
  • Institutional Strengthening and Governance
  • Private Sector Development / Innovation
  • Public / Private financing mechanisms
  • Infrastructure and System Resilience and asset management
  • Sector expertise in renewable energy e.g. in grid connectivity, energy storage, exploration costs and risks, energy access, energy security, distribution system loss reduction, payment collection activities


Required skills and qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years of renewable energy experience working on programmes in developing countries/fragile contexts
  • Master’s degree in international development, renewable energy or related fields

Desirable skills and qualifications:
  • Strong and proven leadership skills. Ability to manage effective teams and work with various key stakeholders in government and with key private and public partners, civil society, peer and donor agencies.
