Operations is one of the largest divisions in the firm and has diverse responsibilities, including correctly settling and recording millions of transactions per day, identifying and mitigating all operational risks, developing strong client relationships and partnering with technology to realize the full potential of IT and e-solutions. Throughout, the Operations department continually seeks ways to improve while actively supporting the development of new businesses, structures and markets.
The Asia International Wealth Management Business Engagement & Service team is responsible for handling all PWM operational escalations from the business and other key stakeholders. In addition, the team handles front office inquiries, new business requests, prepares management / regulatory reports, and manages New Product Approval (NPA) processes as well as supporting the independent callback function for the International Wealth Management (IWM) business in Hong Kong and Singapore.
Given the nature of the team and role, the coverage and scope of the role is expected to change on a rotational basis along with the rest of the team, with exposure to a wide variety of products and a holistic view to the PWM business and its operations. The Associate is expected to be able to provide independent thought and input to existing processes, offer suggestions for improvements on an ongoing basis, and take the lead in driving and implementing change where possible.
The following responsibilities are expected, but not limited to:
- Proactively manage and own escalations raised by the business and other stakeholders
- Managing internal and external fraud risks related to asset transfers, client static data changes and account dormancy through support of independent callback process.
- Initiate outgoing calls to the client together with the Sales Team and performing the role of an independent party to authenticate the clients’ identity and request.
- Ensure that client instructions are complete and required documents are duly completed prior to conducting a callback
- Verify client account details using internal systems and determining if there are exceptions which require Client Identification Validation (CIV) to be performed
- Extract and prepare the CIV questions/answers based on client profile and account(s), from relevant systems/repositories
- Liaise with business to clarify any discrepancies
- Prepare management reports for the business and other stakeholders
- Prepare regulatory reports for Financial Controlling Group (FCG) and Compliance
- Facilitating meetings with Operations partners to collate and review data in order to meet regulatory and audit timelines
- Ensuring responses to Compliance and FCG regulatory requests efficiently, consistent, accurately, and timely.
The role will be based in Hong Kong, and is expected to interact significantly with Operations partners and stakeholders such as Compliance and FCG across the region, as well as collaborate with PWM Business Managers.


The ideal candidate will be/have:
- 3-5 years experience in banking operations (preferably cash/security processing)
- Attention to detail, accuracy & quality

- Prepared to work in a dynamic and fast paced environment
- An understanding of risk management and escalation

- Ability to converse in English, Mandarin and Cantonese
