III. BACKGROUND
Based in Hong Kong, this KYC and Client on-boarding role sits within the Investment Banking Division (IBD) and Global Capital Markets (GCM) management control function which entails close collaboration with Asia Pacific Investment Banking and Global Capital Markets bankers, Legal Entities Group, Corporate Security and Global Financial Crimes teams to ensure that client on-boarding is completed in a timely manner in accordance with Firm policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
• Advisor for the Business Unit for client on-boarding issues
• Liaise with relevant parties to assist in resolving on-boarding issues in a timely manner
• Flag potential issues and escalate to management where necessary
• Develop, coordinate and implement on-boarding reporting metrics for management reporting
• Update BU frameworks and policies
• Evaluate and monitor existing procedures
• Help develop new procedures, systems and controls to ensure compliance with current anti-money laundering, know-your-client, OFAC and other regulatory and Firm requirements
• Partner with global counterparts to ensure a consistent global program
• Follow-up with deal team on deal documentation
• Participate in ad hoc tasks as required*LI-JG1

Qualifications

• University graduate
• At least 2 years of experience in KYC, Compliance, AML, Client Service, Middle Office and Operations
• Strong risk and control awareness
• Strong analytical ability and logical thinking
• Ability to identify issues accurately and offer solutions
• Strong sense of accountability and ownership of tasks and processes
• Strong communication skills in English, Cantonese and Mandarin necessary
• Strong team player and ability to work independently under minimal supervision
• Able to multi-task
• Detail-oriented with ability to review and process a high volume of documentation
• Knowledge of banking industry; knowledge of investment banking and capital markets a plus
