Location: Non-Japan Asia-Hong Kong-Hong Kong-Hong Kong

Based in Hong Kong, Morgan Stanley Electronic Trading (MSET) Asia is currently seeking a high energy, goal-driven and self-motivated Asia Equities Trading Product Manager with strong and genuine interests in product management with good analytical skills and firm commitment in striving for excellence. This Product Manager must be a great team player, able to work effectively and pleasantly with colleagues across the firm.
Qualified candidates should have:

- a strong background in project management for technology projects, business analysis, technical writing, cross-team coordination and communication
- a practical understanding of complex data rules and logic
- experience in managing numerous simultaneous projects
- active contribution to strategic and technical discussions.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced Equity Trading Product Manager to work with a fast-moving, talented team producing innovative systems, while interfacing with business owners and technology teams across the Firm.
A. The primary role for this position is to work closely with MSET team, ensuring that vendor / custom EMS / OMS platforms are updated with the latest MS algorithms.
- This will require working with peers in North America and Europe to effectively manage and maintain relationships with EMS / OMS vendors globally
- This role will also need to manage client onboarding process for clients trading multi asset classes with MSET and other parts of the Institutional Equity Division (IED).
B. The Equities Trading Product Manager is also involved in the management of Passport Windows, an in-house execution management system used by MSET clients for multi asset class trading and Alerting platforms. This requires:

- extensive understanding of this product
- provide client demos
- work with clients and MSET team to gather requirements
- prioritize requests with global product managers
- work closely with technology teams to deliver on requests and projects.
C. As part of the MSET product team, the Product Manager needs to work with other product managers or strategists within MSET and others desks in IED and contribute towards MSET business initiatives in their product space.
D. Overall, this role requires extensive interaction with MSET, clients, external vendors and MS IT teams in the region and globally. As such, strong interpersonal and English communication skills are essential.*LI-JG1


- A university degree
- At least five (5) years of relevant experience in electronic trading covering multi asset classes including Equities, Derivatives and Swaps, with a focus on direct market access and algorithmic trading
- Extensive knowledge of FIX protocol
- Experience with execution or order management systems
- Professional functional specification, use case, process flow diagram and product documentation writing
- Project management background: ability to successfully manage and prioritize numerous simultaneous large projects, small tasks and ad-hoc requests
- Ownership mentality with a focus to get things done
- Ability to work independently and to drive projects to completion, while proactively ensuring project teams and relevant stakeholders are kept up to date and expectations properly managed
- Seek frequent feedback & handle criticism constructively
- Fast learner with a good memory
- Hands-on attention to detail self-starter
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
- Ability to succinctly articulate complex concepts
- Effective time management, relationship management, negotiation and prioritization skills thorough knowledge componentized applications, data models and referential data sources
- Background in web-based and custom desktop application development.
- Ability to work in a team environment; be ready to propose solutions, share ideas and be open to new approaches to solving problems. Fast learner with high energy for our fast-paced environment
- Formal Business Analysis or Product Management background
- Past programming experience is a plus
- Financial services background
- Any experience with Complex Event Processing (CEP) or Decision Support (DSS) Alerting systems.
