JOB SUMMARY
 

Focus in this role is on BMSC applications and technologies. Act as the key liaison between Continent and Corporate IT, the Business Partner as well application vendors to successfully deliver application integration, system development, configuration and expert knowledge.

 

CANDIDATE PROFILE

 
Education and Experience
 
  • 4-year degree from an accredited university in Information Technology, Hotel Management, or related major or Undergraduate/graduate degree in computer science or related discipline.
  • 5 years of experience in the business, technology, or related professional area.
  • Proven application development leadership experience and the various approaches to Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) (e.g. Agile and Waterfall)
  • Good process management, negotiating, influencing and problem resolution skills.
  • Experience in business systems and process planning, particularly BMSC (Brand, Marketing, Sales & Consumer Services) related applications and related architecture.
  • Knowledge of business environment, service requirements and hospitality culture.
  • Demonstrated ability to assess customer/client needs, creatively approach solutions, decide and influence appropriate courses of action.
  • Ability to understand and communicate the lifecycle of technologies and applications and to translate into business strategies for the client organizations.

CORE WORK ACTIVITIES
 

Managing Projects and Priorities

  • Guide and liaise with key players (internal and external) in the development, hosting, and technical implementation of “big data” projects including data cleansing, acquisition, integration and reporting, housed in APAC and integrated with Corporate data sources.
  • Business data analyst; leading the analysis of the business use, determine data functions, volume and complexity of potential integrated applications.
  • Design the conceptual data model including identifications of data categories based on their source and usage, leveraging internal architecture where feasible.
  • Understanding of the data structure and data content from the sample data and/or data dictionary, creating and maintaining technical specifications.
  • Analyze the business solution using the data from data vendors including business cases as provided in data acquisition projects.
  • Manage the activation of interfaces between different data locations and systems.
  • Project management of property, as well as above property, application configuration, testing and implementation procedures as directed by Continent BMSC, IT and Corporate.
 

Managing Key Stakeholders Expectation

  • Manage, and keep accountable, vendors in their responsibilities and deliverables.
  • Liaison with BMSC as the business partner for work intake and application configuration.
  • Liaise with Continent and Corporate to obtain alignment and project prioritization.
  • Validate that service provider(s) perform the services agreed to by the master services agreement in a manner that is consistent with both the cooperative spirit and the letter of the agreement.
  • Works with team to progress the service provider’s services to match client needs.
  • Validates service levels meet business needs.
  • Provides input to IT and BMSC’s business strategy and planning as needed.
  • Provide project reporting and status reporting to key stakeholders.
  • Participate as a Continent iT application specialist on Continent, Global and Corporate committees, task forces and working groups ensuring APAC interests are communicated and understood.
  • Work across time zones and geographies to liaise with key stakeholders at corporate and APAC region.
 

Managing Key Process/Documentation

  • Understanding functionality and interoperability of key applications used within BMSC, such as Adobe Audience Manager, Salesforce, LiveRamp, Turbine, etc, to successfully activate data projects.
  • Focus on initiatives driven by BMSC, loyalty, reservations, third party integrations (from data partners), data analytics platforms, web hosting, etc.
  • Generating of project brief - charter creation and business case including requirements, development, build, pilot, documentation and kick off presentation, seek and receive BMSC and IT approvals, leveraging APAC iT’s governance model.
  • Create and deliver project/application business justification guides targeted at Executive VP's, GM's and Owners in order to facilitate project rollouts.
  • Supports and follows defined IT governance decision rights, standards and practices.
  • Manage the creation and activation of contracts and SOW’s required for projects.
  • Allocate time to Continent oversight of property applications such as Opera S&C, CI/TY, Rewards, One Yield, MARSHA, engaging with other Global groups supporting the product life cycles.
  • Lead development and POC for additional BMSC property projects.
  • Manage vendor delivery and responsibilities.
