JOB SUMMARY
 
Marriott International’s APAC CLS team represents diverse disciplines that serve an expanding brand portfolio across the continent. Formulating and executing an effective communications strategy is vital to ensure important information, new ideas, and strategic directives are shared with appropriate teams and senior stakeholders. These communications will serve to align, engage, and inspire the Operations team as our organization enters an era of exciting growth. He/she will report to the Director, Program Management Organization. In addition to owning internal communications, this individual will also support the rest of the team in tracking progress on key initiatives and spend a limited time with project coordination support as needed.
 
CANDIDATE PROFILE
 
Education and Experience
  • 4-year degree from an accredited university in Communications, Business Administration, Communications/Interaction Design, Media, Marketing, Advertising, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major, PLUS 1+ years of experience
  • 3-4 years’ experience in the business, PR, writing, corporate communications, or related professional area
 
CORE WORK ACTIVITIES
 
Internal Communications (Verbal & Written) Strategy Development & Execution
  • Has experience developing a corporate communications strategy across diverse stakeholders by investigating current communication gaps and identifying areas for improvement
  • Has experience in executing a communications strategy using a variety of channels (verbal presentations, written memos, social media, chat, etc)
  • Create and drives cross organization communications content that engage and inspire our Continent, Area, and Property teams
  • Shows initiative to engage in follow-up communications and efforts necessary to achieve strategic goals and targets
  • Writes concisely and persuasively with a strong command of Business English vocabulary, grammar, and sentence structure
  • Experience in website management, digital content management a plus
 
Visual Storytelling
  • Delivers visually powerful presentations with a keen understanding of information and communications design
  • Possesses acute attention to detail and catches written errors or formatting inconsistencies before communications are sent
  • Experience in the fields of UX Design, Digital Marketing, a plus; Experience using Mail Chimp, Photoshop, Illustrator a plus
     
    Initiatives Tracking
  • Creates simple dashboards to summarize progress on key initiatives
  • Follows up with Property, Area, and Continent teams to fulfill the timely completion of project deliverables
  • Experience in Access (SQL), VBA, and other data analysis tools a plus
  • Possesses strong command of Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint and Excel
     
    Program Coordination Support
  • Possesses fluency in Microsoft Outlook to schedule meetings and coordinate schedules
  • Exhibits professionalism, strong interpersonal skills, and flexibility
