Global Mobility Country Lead

Location: Hong Kong

Roles & Responsibilities

The role of the Global Mobility Country Lead is to manage the operations of the country GM team ensuring an efficient, high-quality service is delivered, managing the full international assignment lifecycle for “Strategic and Globally Strategic” moves and liaising with Talent leads in country. The Global Mobility Country Lead reports to the relevant Regional Head of Global Mobility.

The main responsibilities are, but not limited to:

- Providing in-depth, business relevant advice and guidance on KPMG’s Global Mobility programme, including policies and procedures, and funding / cost sharing principles, to assignees and business leaders, in particular those relating to “Globally Strategic” moves
- Developing superb business relationships with senior stakeholders, including internal and external service providers across the regional area of responsibility
- Acting as the point of escalation for issues arising in their country teams
- Country team management as it relates to new hires, training and engagement / motivation
- Working closely with Talent Management leads in the member firms in their respective region, with particular emphasis on assisting with identifying and managing the ‘supply side’ of mobility
- Supervising the Global Mobility Advisors / Coordinators to ensure all assignment support tasks are completed accurately and in line with SLAs

Qualifications & Skills

The Global Mobility Country Lead should demonstrate the following:
- Able to form excellent working relationships with senior business leaders and assignees, talent leads and relevant stakeholders
- Able to contribute to Global Mobility strategy and operational effectiveness as part of the Global Mobility Leadership team
- Well-organised approach being able to multi-task, prioritise and work under pressure, whilst maintaining a high standard and quality of work with strong attention to detail
- A proactive attitude and global mind set, which is demonstrated by the maintenance of objectivity and cultural sensitivity when working across borders
- Good problem-solving and decision-making skills, in particular when dealing with complex assignment issues
- A detailed understanding of compliance, including knowledge of tax, social security, immigration regulations and employment law
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, Mandarin and Cantonese 

Experience & Background

- A relevant Bachelor or Masters degree (or equivalent)
- Strong experience of working in Global Mobility, Expatriate Management, or Relocation Services
- A proven track record of working with senior-level individuals, including VIP assignees
- Familiarity with working in a large professional partnership
