JPMorgan Asset Management – Global Real Assets – Real Estate Asia Pacific creates value for our clients through the selective acquisition and aggressive asset management of real properties and joint ventures in the Asia Pacific private real estate markets.
The role will be reporting to the Head of Research & Strategy, Asia Pacific in undertaking fundamental real estate market research, assist in portfolio construction and investment strategy formulation. He/she will provide market research support to various functions of the private real estate business including acquisitions, asset management, fund management and client marketing.
Conduct “top down” and “bottom up” real estate market fundamental research on the primary sectors (i.e., office, retail, industrial and multi-family) across the real estate markets in Asia Pacific
Providing support to the investment underwriting processes and preparation of investment memo
Providing support to acquisition, asset management, fund management, client marketing function and fund reporting
Work in conjunction with the global research team in target market analysis, portfolio construction and investment strategy formulation
Help to identify new opportunities for real estate investment and participate in the development of new investment strategies
Contribute to regional and global research publications
- A tertiary qualification in finance, commerce, real estate or a related discipline
At least five years of research experience in real estate investments, experience in private equity real estate preferred
Good understanding of economic and capital market drivers to the performance of real estate market in the Asia Pacific region
Experience analyzing the fundamentals of commercial, retail, logistic and residential sectors of major markets in the Asia Pacific region. Exposures to Australia, Japan preferred.
Knowledge in econometrics and forecasting using time series and causal approach
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and statistical software like EViews
Advanced analytical skills, attention to detail and work independently
Confident and articulate communication with strong interpersonal skills
Highly organized with the ability to perform under pressure
Good judgment and discretion, as team members often work with highly confidential information
Languages: Full written and oral fluency in English. Additional fluency in Asian languages a plus.
