CIB Marketing - Strategic Event Marketing – Associate – Hong Kong

J.P. Morgan Corporate & Investment Bank (CIB) Strategic Event Marketing Team in Asia Pacific is the specialist team that manages line of business and franchise marketing events in the region.


The Strategic Event Marketing Associate role based in Hong Kong will focus on strategic direction and content delivery of client events for Treasury Services, Global Trade & Loan Products and Corporate Banking. The Strategic Event Marketing Associate will work with management and colleagues on all work related to events, such as developing strategic event marketing plans and protocol, joining project work streams, and creating ad hoc reporting. The Strategic Event Marketing Associate will support other team members on larger events as well as managing his/her own events. This role will support the business in efforts to increase client business/deepen existing client relationships, create and drive efficiencies for all internal partners and maintain J.P. Morgan brand standard in all events.  

The successful candidate will be expected to partner closely with Corporate Meetings & Events, Communications and Corporate support organizations, as well as the broader APAC Event Marketing team. This role will report into the Head of Strategic Event Marketing, Banking, CIB APAC.



Job functions/responsibilities

  • Understand business strategy and target audience and work to ensure event strategy supports business goals across Treasury Services, Global Trade & Loan Products and Corporate Banking.

  • Provide event marketing services across the Treasury Services, Global Trade & Loan Products and Corporate Banking supporting the Strategic Event Marketing team & internal stakeholders for proprietary and non proprietary event logistics.

  • Partner with business stakeholders to help define, support, identify, evaluate and create content for event marketing opportunities that support the business agenda.

  • Provide support across J.P. Morgan franchise sponsorships as well as industry conferences and events, ensuring benefits are delivered, effectively leveraged and executed flawlessly.     

  • Organise, set up and provide onsite support to events and conferences in Asia Pacific.

  • Develop strategic agenda and content for events. Oversee the development of event agendas with marketing and business including interaction with internal and external speakers and panelists, entertainment and venue research, audio visual requirements, briefing memos, Create production materials such as invitation, nametags, place cards, menu cards, seating, biographies and speaker introductions etc

  • Implement event brief through research, budgets, approvals, dealing with vendors, invitation and post-event analysis

  • Manage and keep track of marketing and event budget with a view to cost efficiency.

  • Adhere to the mandatory processes around strategic event marketing and corporate meetings and events.

  • List and registration management for client events.

  • Adhere to internal policy and procedures with regards to reporting activities and spend, compliance regulations, approval processes and ensuring appropriate documentation is in place

  • Develop partnership with internal stakeholders and external vendors


Essential skills/experience


The ideal candidate:

  • Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications or a related degree is preferred

  • Minimum 6 years of experience in marketing or event planning field in financial sector

  • Strong project management skills and ability/flexibility to confidently manage an event on an end-to-end basis

  • Ability to manage budget, and to stay within strict budget parameters

  • Confidence to be an ambassador to internal clients management. Ability to interact, influence and communicate effectively with all levels of the organization and across Lines of Businesses.

  • Very strong interpersonal and collaboration skills, and flexible in approach

  • Team player with proven capability of reaching proposed targets and supporting team members with their events as necessary

  • Candidate must be detail-oriented with an ability to prioritize and simultaneously manage multiple tasks

  • Proficiency in Excel, Word & Power Point; some working knowledge of Access preferred

  • Excellent English oral and written communication skills

  • Mandarin oral and reading skills would be an advantage

  • Periodic travel within Asia Pacific is required
