Team / Role Summary
Be a member of our CIB Governance & Program Management APAC Regulatory Reporting team and participate in our International Regulatory Strategy initiative to drive efficiencies and consistency globally.
Asia Regulatory Reporting is a rapidly evolving environment with change through mandatory regulatory reporting requirements, application enhancements & technical change, data enrichment and support for JPM line of business development projects.
In partnership with APAC Senior Financial Officer (SFO), Legal Entity Controller (LEC) and Risk Finance Technology (RFT) teams, we had successfully automated majority of APAC BASEL and Local Regulatory Reporting systems.  This includes Japan CAR, India (including Basel III), Thailand (including Basel III), Philippines, Indonesia, Australia, Malaysia, China, Singapore & Korea.
This year the team kicked off a number of new and upgrade projects for LRR and a multi-year Global Initiative to migrate our APAC Oracle GL to SAP.
CIB Governance & Program Management APAC Regulatory Reporting team is a good starting base for a highly motivated candidate to
  • Develop an appreciation of the regulatory banking and security regime in Asia.
  • Develop knowledge around SAP and SAP integration with BASEL / LRR systems.
  • Develop project management skill sets.
  • Strengthen ones influencing, problem solving, multi-tasking, and relationship management skill sets that are critical in building an all rounded individual.
Key Deliverables
SME Role
  1. Partner closely with Finance users, Risk Finance Technology (RFT) & external vendor consultants to deliver these strategic regulatory reporting solutions.
  2. Provide SME/PMO support to these programs.
  3. Partner with Finance stakeholders to define project plan, including scope, timeline, risks, etc.   
  4. Gather, validate, drafting business requirements and future operating model documents for regulatory projects.
  5. Provide Impact Analysis and additional Business Requirements of existing live BASEL / LRR locations upon reviewing “Oracle GL to SAP” Gap Analysis.
  6. Review functional specification document, design/build discussions in partnership with Finance users & RFT.
  7. Identify areas of improvements, brainstorm solutions to address issues and concerns and propose solutions to improve processes and create efficiencies.
  8. Perform Product Validation/Proof of Concept, in partnership with Finance users, RFT & external vendor.
  9. Participate & support Finance users throughout the testing phase.
  10. Provide guidance to Finance users throughout testing / implementation phase.
  11. Provide continuous improvement opportunities through identifying best practices in processes/systems/reference data.
  12. Manages ongoing tactical & strategic finance platform enhancements and automations.


Key Skills / Experiences
  1. Strong analytical skills, logical thinker with strong attention to detail.
  2. Excellent written skills with clear, concise & logical documentation. Experienced with planning, organising, and managing multiple priorities, critical paths and risks areas.
  3. Experience in checking regulatory reports and performing regression testing.  Be able to track testing tasks and issues via Quality Centre is a bonus.
  4. Excellent organization & planning skills.
  5. Good communication, negotiation and relationship management skills.
  6. Creative problem solving and business process reengineering skills.
  7. Team player with ability to work with colleagues in a collaborative manner, as well as being able to proactively progress multiple tasks independently.
  8. Preferably based in Singapore or Hong Kong.
  9. Accounting/local regulatory knowledge/project implementation is an advantage.
  10. Knowledge and experience of industry leading regulatory reporting environment, requirements & vendor packages.
  11. Be flexible to work with APAC team and different time zones across various regions from Australia to India.
