Analyst/ Associate, Compliance, Office of the Legal Obligations, APAC

The Office of Legal Obligations (“OLO”) program is a firm-wide, global initiative that brings together the expertise of Legal, Lines of Business (LOBs), Compliance, Oversight & Control, Risk and other key control functions, to proactively manage regulatory changes in our operations and allow us to trace end-to-end connections between laws, rules and regulations on the one hand, and our policies and procedures that demonstrate compliance on the other.

The J.P. Morgan APAC Compliance OLO team is responsible for the developing, deploying, overseeing and reporting of a program that ensures that obligations associated to Compliance proceed through the process lifecycle to completion and support an ongoing change management process in APAC. This includes building awareness of the program in APAC and ensuring consistency in global understanding and dissemination of regulatory requirements.

The role is within the APAC Compliance OLO team responsible for coordinating the mapping of obligations to risks, policies, procedures and other supporting documentation. This will involve working closely with the APAC Compliance OLO Lead to investigate, coordinate, and collate the required supporting documentation. You will be responsible for coordinating this work for APAC Compliance, working in conjunction with the project lead to drive efficiency of obligation mapping while minimizing the impact on Compliance subject matter experts. The role will provide considerable exposure to Country and LOB Compliance partners throughout APAC and the business.

This role reports functionally to the APAC Compliance OLO Lead. As an integral member of the team you will assist in the delivery of key Compliance responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the day to day deliverables of the Compliance OLO Program for APAC

  • Support the APAC Compliance OLO Lead in managing the delivery of key Program milestones

  • Assist with the coordination of APAC Country and LOB Compliance subject matter experts to ensure timely mapping output of assessment analysis data

  • Compile assessment analysis data for review by APAC Compliance OLO Lead

  • Provide QA of obligation assessments to ensure consistency of quality for mapping output

  • Resolve items identified by QA process

Key Skills:
  • Experience/knowledge of the APAC regulatory environment and of financial products highly desirable
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proactive approach to problem solving and owning of issues
  • Team player with ability to build strong relationships – proven flexibility, adaptability and reliability
  • Detail oriented, with a highly disciplined approach to process and quality control; attention to detail is critical in this role
  • Flexibility to handle multiple tasks, changing priorities, and monitor tight deadlines or unexpected requirement changes
  • Candidate needs to be comfortable working and partnering with people at all levels and across all functional areas
  • Excellent working knowledge of MS Excel and Qlikview
