Financial Crime Compliance aligns current activities within Global Risk and helps to build these into a more integrated framework to conduct Customer Due Diligence which enables HSBC to manage financial crime risk more effectively. It builds stronger controls to improve the way Financial Crime Compliance risks are managed in order to spot gaps as well as trends so that the team can take action. It proactively gathers and analyses financial intelligence in a smart way so that suspicious transactions, activities or connections can be identified and we can adequately protect our customers from the threat of financial crime.
We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as Senior Risk Programme Manager.

Principal responsibilities

  • Senior Risk Programme Managers plan, mobilise and direct change programmes of varying complexity from inception to closure.  They are typically responsible for leading and managing large scale change programmes and business transformations.  They act as a role model, demonstrating active leadership and communication.  Senior Risk Programme Managers are responsible for deploying the Programme Management framework and other Global Transformation frameworks within their programmes and instilling good programme disciplines.  The role holder has end to end responsibility for all aspects of the programme, defining and planning the programme, managing mobilisation, controlling execution and managing implementation, change and benefits realisation.  They work closely with the Portfolio Manager and Global Portfolio Management Office to ensure alignment of their programme with the wider change portfolio and the Group Strategy, Values and Behaviours.
  • Effectively initiates and shapes the programme, developing the initial business case and obtaining approval to proceed.
  • Oversees the development of a well defined programme plan.
  • Coordinates planning across multiple Project Managers and delivery partner teams. Plans effectively around delivery constraints and optimises the plan to maximise benefits and minimise risk.
  • Working with Senior Portfolio Managers or Programme Directors or Senior Programme Managers at group level obtains buyin, collaborates and influences senior management stakeholders and business partners for all key programme plans, commitments and changes
  • Proactively determine, analyse and identify performance metrics and measurements and dictates improvement plans to track and drive on time delivery and adherence to budget
  • Actively manages and coordinates the programme plan and roadmap, handling changes as they arise and keeping stakeholders focused on the agreed change outcomes and benefits
  • Baselines the plan requirements, designs, budget and scope during Programme Definition.  Manages changes through the change control process. Challenges and intervenes where there is scope creep, budget overrun, plan slippage and benefits
  • Obtains sponsor and stakeholder signoff for deliverables, formally closes programme, assesses stakeholder satisfaction and captures feedback

  • Proven ability to work across countries whilst maintaining a global perspective
  • Demonstration of commerciality with strong financial acumen
  • Proven ability to work with senior stakeholders and business sponsors
  • Evidence of ability to make key strategic decisions
  • Delivery of large scale complex programmes at pace, developing high performing interchanging teams to support delivery at each stage
  • Strong people and team management experience
  • Proven implementation, change management and benefits realisation experience
