Senior Global Standards Manager - Retail Banking and Wealth Management

Location: Asia Pacific-Hong Kong-Hong Kong Island-Central

We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as Senior Global Standards Manager.
Principal responsibilities
  • Oversee and contribute to the Global Standards programmes across multiple countries within the Region and working with the relevant country leads
  • Liaise with Executive level stakeholders both inside and outside of the Global Standards Programme
  • Contribute to country governance framework for Global Standards portfolio of programmes
  • Communicate, enable and mobilise Retail Banking and Wealth Management’s activity required to support its Global Standards responsibilities
  • Oversee reporting against programme scope, programme plans and cross programme dependencies
  • Input into communication and training materials spanning internal and external stakeholders ensuring they are fit for purpose
  • Provide executive level updates to provide accurate, timely and insightful analysis of the progress of the Global Standards programmes and workstreams, the impact on the business and intervention where necessary
  • Build strong relationships, adopting a joined up approach, to support execution of programmes at pace and with minimum conflict
  • Ensure that internal and external regulatory requirements are met
  • Analyse stakeholder goals and effectively manage their expectations, addressing any misalignment.
  • Build trusted advisor relationships with internal customers at a Country and country level to understand their objectives        
  • Understand and manage programme client or stakeholders’ requirements and expectations to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Accept full responsibility and accountability for deliverables as required
  • Monitor progress to ensure programmes are delivered on time and within budget, and business results or outcomes are realised.
  • Ensure projects and programmes adhere to regulatory requirements, Retail Banking and Wealth Management and Group policies and standards and minimise general risk to the Group
  • Oversee the establishment of the project or programme performance metrics and reporting process, ensuring sponsors receive the right information at the right time regarding project or programme performance
  • Implement processes to ensure Retail Banking and Wealth Management’s commitments to the Global Standards programme are adequately resourced to ensure success
  • Implementation of recommendations made by internal or external auditors and external regulators in a timely manner.


  • University degree in an appropriate discipline
  • Proven record of effective management in a leadership role, including planning and decision making, identifying priorities and bringing a wide range of projects to successful completion.
  • Strong business understanding of Retail Banking and Wealth Management objectives and operating model as well as Group policies and standards.
  • Experience of managing resources in senior roles to achieve objectives using appropriate communication delegation and planning skills.
  • Ability to use strong judgmental skills to identify and resolve problems whilst maintaining budgets, time scales and quality of output.
  • Able to cope with pressure and tight deadlines and be change oriented
  • Excellent written communication skills, ability to clearly document the current state and the recommendations
  • Ability to build connections and work collaboratively across the Group.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering large scale business initiatives, ideally in the regulatory space related to customer account opening or due diligence, within a Retail Banking and Wealth Management context.
