We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as Search Engine Optimisation Specialist.
Principal responsibilities
  • The SEO Manager should have knowledge of Social, Paid Search and other traffic acquisition channels techniques
  • The SEO Manager will also be responsible for performance reporting within their region
  • Ensure all published content and pages are SEO compliant
  • Work with Content Studio Strategist to identify and deliver timely content
  • Track, analyse and report regional site traffic
  • Competitor analysis and tracking
  • Make on-going improvement recommendations to regional websites
  • Inform the Global SEO team knowledgebase
  • Deliver regional SEO training to editorial teams
  • Oversee Quality Control in output
  • Identification of key risks, issues and interdependencies and providing appropriate mitigation strategies or escalating as appropriate.
  • Responsible site success on local search engines
  • Ensuring that all HSBC Retail banking wealth management services offer standout customer experience and fully deliver on our brand promise.
  • Provision of common global solutions while recognising that local regulations and customs will require the service to be tailored. Even where local regulation and customs tailor the service accordingly, the service quality HSBC offers will be to the same standard across the world.
  • Provide well planned and governed SEO strategies that can be leveraged globally with local considerations
  • The role holder is responsible for the execution and delivery of Global SEO strategies and will be responsible for their success
  • Support cross-functional teams while being part of the regional content studio to deliver project and BAU tasks
  • The Global nature of the Centre of excellence is likely to necessitate some international travel for meetings with stakeholders and occasional workshops lasting multiple days. When operating from the home country, some schedule flexibility will be required to allow for daily/weekly interaction with Centre of excellence team members and project teams from all Regions via video and voice conference. 
  • The role holder will be expected to do analysis and make recommendations based on data
  • The jobholder will also adhere to and be able to demonstrate adherence to internal controls. This will be achieved by adherence to all relevant procedures, keeping appropriate records and, where appropriate, by the timely implementation of internal and external audit points, including issues raised by external regulators.
  • The jobholder will implement the Group compliance policy by containing compliance risk in liaison with Global Head of Compliance, Global Compliance Officer, Area Compliance Officer or Local Compliance Officer. The term compliance embraces all relevant financial services laws, rules and codes with which the business has to comply.


  • Proven SEO Experience
  • Demonstrable understanding of other traffic acquisition channels
  • Knowledge of Conversion Marketing
  • Experience of Adobe Measure Omniture SiteCatalyst and relevant Search Engine Consoles
  • Experience working with locally relevant keyword and optimisation tooling
  • Experience and understanding of web publishing tools, content management systems and capabilities and automated translation platforms
  • Previous experience in a translation or localisation environment
  • Knowledge of digital best practice including SEO, writing for web, optimisation and accessibility
  • Strong analytical, and planning skills and the ability to work with multiple teams.
  • Innovative and have the ability to approach things differently or do different things to deliver goals
  • Highly developed communication skills, both written and verbal, to explain complex or technical issues
  • Pragmatic decision making skills, with the ability to make clear judgments based on a range of factors, for example commercials, risk, customer experience, determine the implications and make recommendations as needed.
  • Strong relationship management and influencing skills to satisfy a wide range of internal and external customers with conflicting priorities
  • Strong understanding of information systems, business processes, the key drivers and measures of success
