Global Risk is a thriving and expert risk management function supporting HSBC globally with all aspects of risk management. The team actively manages a varied and dynamic range of risk types, including security, fraud, information security, contingency, geopolitical, operational, credit, pension, insurance, financial crime and regulatory compliance, market and reputation risks. All parts of the Global Risk team use their skills, insight and integrity to handle established threats and those they see emerging, acting to protect and enable HSBC to deliver sustainable growth.
We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as Retail Risk Analytics Manager, Basel Implementation.
Principal responsibilities
  • Support end to end Basel model implementation for all HSBC Asia Pacific portfolios such as raising user requirements, conducting User acceptance Testing and ensuring projects are launched on a timely manner
  • Ensure accurate and timely implementation of the Basel models for Asia Pacific
  • Responsible for data quality assurance for Basel reporting
  • Provide support for other key initiatives such as International Financial Reporting Standard 9, Basel Committee on Banking Supervision
  • Provide data user support
  • Involve in data quality improvement including resolving data issues, identify solutions, raising user requirements, conducting User acceptance Testing’s, production launch and post production verification


  • An undergraduate or post graduate degree in Statistics, Science, Engineering, Computing, Business Administration, Finance or a related field
  • Ability to understand credit risk systems and perform data queries or analysis, with strong experiences in SAS
  • Relevant experiences in risk management in financial services industry
  • Strong project management experiences preferred
  • Business as well as technical orientation, with the ability to communicate effectively with both business and Information Technology teams
  • Detail minded, committed, strong problem solving skill and well developed written and verbal English communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize effectively and meet tight deadlines
