As part of Global Risk, Regulatory Compliance ensures adherence to applicable regulations and standards by setting the policies which cover HSBC’s regulatory requirements, and mitigate conduct and reputational risk issues. The team strives to remain ahead of the regulatory change agenda and ensures the business understands the implications and is prepared for change. It monitors how the Global Businesses and Functions manage their responsibilities with regard to complying with the regulations and helps resolve compliance deficiencies.
We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as Regulatory Compliance Manager Global Banking Asia Pacific.
Assist Senior Regulatory Compliance members in providing Regulatory Compliance advice and support in respect of the Global Banking activities in Hong Kong
Implement necessary procedures and policies to ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, codes as well as Global Standards Manual, Global Risk and Global Banking Regulatory Compliance Manual.
Identify Regulatory Compliance Risks in the relevant business and provide necessary assessments and solutions
Monitor changes to business practice and products, resolve issues including the specification of processes, procedures and system enhancements from a Regulatory Compliance perspective to ensure adequate controls
Report all actual and potential breaches of applicable laws and regulations
Ability to clearly identify Regulatory Compliance risks and provide necessary analysis, advice, solutions and support
Ability to interpret regulatory developments and advise on its impact to business, provision of practical and compliant solutions
Ability to deal with Business and Management in a professional and proactive manner
Experience in managing or leading Compliance Project would be an advantage
Solid experience in Compliance or other control or risk functions of an international bank or financial institution
Good understanding of Banking and the nature of cross border transactions in the Asia Pacific region
Good Understanding of current Hong Kong Regulatory Compliance regulations or have prior experience dealing or working with Hong Kong regulators
Good analytical, inter personal and communication skills.
Highly motivated, with ability to work proactively and collaboratively within a large organization and to deliver high quality work on time
Demonstrates good judgment and able to support decisions with sound reasoning and deal with business in a professional manner
The chosen candidate for this role will be required to undergo enhanced vetting. Subject to local laws, this will require the individual to satisfactorily pass a series of additional checks as part of the recruitment process and on an ongoing basis, if appointed to the role.
