We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as Regional Business Risk Control Manager.
Conduct regular Risk and control reviews, new business, new products and new markets risk assessments
Provide technical support and research on all HSBC Securities Services operational and control issues
Establish and implement control monitoring program to ensure all staff are fully aware of the importance and consequences of operational risks
Monitor and analyse Key Risk Indicators and operational metrics and maintain risk and control database
Drive comprehensive analysis and balanced judgment in the fulfilment of audit requirements, coordinate various internal and external control audits or reviews and ensure the timely implementation of audit recommendations
Devise and undertake ad-hoc projects for risk assessment and mitigation
Experience in compliance, audit or operational risk in financial industry
Degree holder, preferably Qualified Accountant, with strong knowledge of accounting standards, valuation of various investment instruments and interpretation of fund offering documents and statutory regulations
Availability to travel is required for this role, travel will be required at least once every three months, if not more frequently, to one of the 17 countries within Asia Pacific region
Relevant product knowledge including knowledge of Securities Services, for example Global Custody, Custody and Clearing, Corporate Trust and Loan Agency and Fund Services, is desirable but not essential
Strategic thinker with strong analytical and project management skills to enhance procedures and controls
Well developed leadership and people management skills, able to drive change and provide positive influence to achieve organization goals
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to negotiate and work effectively with senior business and stakeholders across business divisions and geographies
The chosen candidate for this role will be required to undergo enhanced vetting. Subject to local laws, this will require the individual to satisfactorily pass a series of additional checks as part of the recruitment process and on an ongoing basis, if appointed to the role.
