Programme Manager - Global Asset Management

Location: Asia Pacific-Hong Kong-Hong Kong Island-Central

Global Asset Management, the investment management business of the HSBC Group, serves HSBC’s worldwide customer base of retail and private clients, intermediaries, corporates and institutions invested in both segregated accounts and pooled funds. Global Asset Management fulfills its purpose of connecting HSBC’s clients with investment opportunities around the world through an international network of offices in approximately 30 countries, delivering global capabilities with local market insight.
We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as Programme Manager.
Principal responsibilities
  • The role will cover Programme management work to implement new operating model by replacing investments Order Management System, streamlining investment processes including cash management, interactions with the middle office trade matching, derivative processing and collateral management.
  • The role covers all aspects of programme delivery, impact analysis and dependency management with other business infrastructure initiatives in Asset Management Group across multiple geographies and functions. The successful candidate will work with Business Sponsors, Global Programme and Project Managers, Data Management team and Information Technology
  • Lead the project teams by breaking down the complex strategies to simple actionable tasks and action owners
  • Work closely with the global project teams, and articulate local requirements and limitations to draft the target operating model
  • Work with key stakeholders to develop and implement efficient solutions to support business growth while managing risk and regulatory requirements.
  • Establish a transparent Governance process and change control process
  • Provide timely project status updates, and escalate issues on a timely manner, and follow through to ensure they are resolved.
  • Track the project costs and ensure they are in line with the approved business case and Annual Operating Plan.
  • Manage the project budget and maintain monthly cost tracking sheet
  • Maintain Risks, Assumptions, Issues and Decision log and make it available for management decision making



  • A solid number of years of relevant project management experience in financial services, implementing front office systems, trade matching solutions, and outsourcing projects
  • Clear understanding of front office processes involved in managing cross border mandates, and their interactions with the middle office and back office systems.
  • Able to Capture and understand the data from various sources in order to determine the scope and appropriate changes to local processes
  • Be flexible in terms of time schedule including Global calls at late evenings.
  • Persuasive and firm communication skills
  • The jobholder is required to guide the business teams in Hong Kong and local offices in Asia Pacific on the project deliverables, clarification of business requirements and resolve ad hoc queries and issues.
  • The jobholder is also required to build strong working relationship with internal stake holders, as well as with the management of external service provider.
