Mortgage Lending Unit Officer - Global Risk

Global Risk is a thriving and expert risk management function supporting HSBC globally with all aspects of risk management. The team actively manages a varied and dynamic range of risk types, including security, fraud, information security, contingency, geopolitical, operational, credit, pension, insurance, financial crime and regulatory compliance, market and reputation risks. All parts of the Global Risk team use their skills, insight and integrity to handle established threats and those they see emerging, acting to protect and enable HSBC to deliver sustainable growth.
We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as Mortgage Lending Unit Officer.
Principal responsibilities
  • Be responsible for handling all mortgage loan approval including new loan approval, change in loan terms handling and also mortgage retention operations.
  • To evaluate and propose recommendations for mortgage loan applications by analyzing information provided.
  • To contact and negotiate terms with customers in accordance with credit and repricing guidelines.
  • To deal with enquires and complaints from customers, branches and departments with skilful techniques which could meet the expectations from customer and the Bank.
  • To ensure proper handling of follow up cases in an efficient manner.  Also to ensure proper follow up action are taken on outstanding items.
  • To observe and adhere to compliance and service standards requirement
  • To prepare regular management reports and perform data consolidation and analysis.
  • To liaise with branches and other internal departments such on day to day operations.


  • University degree in an appropriate discipline
  • Experienced in handling mortgage product
  • Service oriented
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and influencing skills
