Global Risk is a thriving and expert risk management function supporting HSBC globally with all aspects of risk management. The team actively manages a varied and dynamic range of risk types, including security, fraud, information security, contingency, geopolitical, operational, credit, pension, insurance, financial crime and regulatory compliance, market and reputation risks. All parts of the Global Risk team use their skills, insight and integrity to handle established threats and those they see emerging, acting to protect and enable HSBC to deliver sustainable growth.
We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as Manager Retail Banking Wealth Management Risk.
Principal responsibilities
  • Perform sound justification on deviation approvals for credit products including mortgage loan, personal loan and credit cards for retail and wealth management clients within own lending authority.
  • Ensure the approvals are adherence to all credit rules, regulations and procedures.
  • Conduct sample checks on cases approved by operation team and ensure the approval quality.
  • Share the knowledge and skills on credit related issues with frontline staff and operation team.
  • Provide feedback and comment to Policy team for policy updates and fine tuning in order to maintain HSBC competitiveness in the market.
  • Collaborate with business, frontline and operation team for business growth.
  • Assist in risk related projects.

Qualifications

Requirements
  • University Degree in an appropriate discipline.
  • Solid years of relevant experience and substantial exposure to mortgage loan, personal loan and credit card underwriting.
  • Sound compliance knowledge with all credit rules, regulations and procedures.
  • Good knowledge of industrial best practices and market conditions.
  • Strong analytical, influencing and decision making skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
