We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as IT Portfolio Manager, Data Services.
Principal responsibilities
  • Driving sustainable growth. Engages with colleagues to offer commercially viable, sustainable proposals aligned to HSBC's strategy.
  • Achieving excellence. Focuses on medium and long term goals even when under pressure or in uncertainty.
  • Project Management. Works with stakeholders to agree project and programme strategy and objectives. Creates detailed project and programme plans taking into account time and resource constraint.
  • Manages expectations, results and impact of agreed outcomes, thinking ahead to identify and overcome potential issues.
  • Provides solutions and added value for long term customer satisfaction and enduring relationships.
  • Uses extensive influencing and negotiation techniques to deliver significant and complex sales in an ethical manner.
  •  Customer focus. Champions activities encouraging outstanding service and enhancing customer advocacy.
  • Strengthen stakeholder relationships. Uses rapport building expertise and appropriate influencing to add value beyond the initial scope, increasing stakeholder advocacy.
  • Cultivates strong relationships with organisationally important global and high value stakeholders with a tailored approach.
  • Deliver fair outcomes for our customers and ensure own conduct maintains the orderly and transparent operation of financial markets.
  • Managing and leading. Authentically engages a diverse group of stakeholders internally and externally to influence the achievement of best outcomes for all stakeholders.
  • Coaching. Effectively deploys basic coaching techniques. Able to coach individuals on a specific skill or subject area. Is able to offer guidance and suggestions for improvement, providing clarity around performance expectations.
  • Plays a leading role in contributing to individual and team reward and recognition systems, and ongoing development of effective performance management measures.
  •  Managing risk responsibly. Drives implementation of best practice in risk policies and governance frameworks.
  • Risk and issue management. Anticipates risks, issues, dependencies that are not easily evident and helps others to recognise them.
  • Process re-engineering. Leads significant, potentially global, re engineering programmes and develops process improvement solutions and progresses these through to implementation.
  • Promotes ethical management of risk across regions and business areas within their teams.
  • Creates an environment which anticipates risk, ensuring action is taken to quantify and mitigate them.
