Insurance Development Manager - HSBC Insurance

We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as Insurance Development Manager.
Principal responsibilities
  • Review of business cases for new product development including quality of submission, market review and suitability
  • Assessment of products in terms of product features suitability and technicality of product design
  • Assist countries with product issues, guidance to countries in approval process and other Group Insurance Guidelines
  • Conduct Annual Range Review, Product Risk Rating Review and Product Mapping Review for global insurance
  • Maintain Management Information for Key Performance Indicators relates to product such as premium, revenue, number of policies etc.
  • Support business plan by reviewing AOP and or ATP to ensure alignments with product planning
  • Maintain model for Insurance Product Risk Rating and as a member of Centre of Excellence for Product Risk Rating Model
  • Help prepare insurance related reports and presentations and handle ad hoc requests for group insurance
  • Provide support to the implementation of the Group Insurance Product Strategy, guidelines and other Group Insurance initiatives
  • Require to work independently and interact well with markets to keep up to date on insurance happenings

Qualifications

Requirements
  • University degree
  • Preference to candidates product marketing and consulting background
  • Ability to perform products assessment independently and understanding of product pricing
  • Strong knowledge in life Insurance products
  • Technically strong with ability to review financials for business case and business plan
  • Good project management or implementation skills
  • Good communication skills and ability to challenge others
  • Must be a team player and able to work with and through others
  • Good in writing and communicating in English and Mandarin
  • Work flexibly and support the requirements of other team members
  • Take ownership of tasks and act on their initiative, balanced with seeking help when required.
  • Be able to communicate in an appropriate manner with senior people in both Group Insurance and the Insurance businesses globally and possibly external Partners
  • Good understanding of the internal and external business environment, and a strong grasp of competitive practices and customer needs.
