Independent Model Review Manager - Global Risk

Global Risk is a thriving and expert risk management function supporting HSBC globally with all aspects of risk management. The team actively manages a varied and dynamic range of risk types, including security, fraud, information security, contingency, geopolitical, operational, credit, pension, insurance, financial crime and regulatory compliance, market and reputation risks. All parts of the Global Risk team use their skills, insight and integrity to handle established threats and those they see emerging, acting to protect and enable HSBC to deliver sustainable growth.
We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as Independent Model Review Manager.
Principal responsibilities
  • Responsible for supporting the Regional Head of Independent Model Review in the execution of Independent Model Review's global vision and strategy for Asia Pacific.
  • Independent Review and validation of pricing and risk models for Markets
  • Ensure good communication with stakeholders and global counterparts
  • Delivering clear and coherent messages to the Business and other stakeholders on quantitative issues and reviews
  • Provide practical support for independent model review’s systems and tools.
  • Adhering to Independent Model Review Governance, Policy and Review Framework.
  • Responsible for adhering to policy cascaded from Group Risk and Global Head of Independent Model Review.
  • Timely and quality delivery of reviews as well as supporting more junior staff throughout the review process, as required.


  • Strong analytical skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Knowledge of topical regulatory items within the industry 
  • Experience as a quantitative analyst would be a definitive advantage
  • Good programming skills VBA, C++
