Financial Crime Compliance aligns current activities within Global Risk and helps to build these into a more integrated framework to conduct Customer Due Diligence which enables HSBC to manage financial crime risk more effectively. It builds stronger controls to improve the way Financial Crime Compliance risks are managed in order to spot gaps as well as trends so that the team can take action. It proactively gathers and analyses financial intelligence in a smart way so that suspicious transactions, activities or connections can be identified and we can adequately protect our customers from the threat of financial crime.
We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as Financial Crime Compliance Manager, Global Trade Receivables Finance.
The job holder will primarily be responsible for ensuring, for the Asia Pacific region
Providing advice on any other referrals made from regional Global Trade and Receivables Finance teams.
All suspicious transaction and sanctions queries referred from regional Global Trade and Receivables Finance teams and Middle Office within the Region is reviewed and responded to.
Reporting any suspicious transactions to the relevant country for further reporting to authorities.
Undertaking quality assurance work relating to transactions processed at Middle Office, and monitoring approach is undertaken in line with laid down procedures.
Undertaking any other additional responsibilities towards training and other compliance tasks that may arise with the development of the compliance control framework within regional Global Trade and Receivables Finance teams
Ensure that the independence of the Compliance Function is not impaired and line management is alert to and assume compliance responsibilities.
Successfully complete Anti-Money Laundering and Sanctions training and post-course assessment, as required
Experience in either Compliance or Global Trade and Receivables Finance is essential
Experience in having undertaken investigator type responsibilities in relation to Sanction, Financial Crime or Fraud is highly desirable.
Working knowledge of Global Trade and Receivables Finance products and services is highly desirable.
Awareness of regulations affecting the Global Trade and Receivables Finance business particularly, antimoney laundering, and sanctions is desirable.
Ability to work in a multigeographical matrix management environment.
Confidence to interact, influence and negotiate with business management.
Excellent oral, written communication and presentation skills, interpersonal skills.
Ability to support decisions with sound reasoning.
Ability to clearly articulate business and regulatory implications of analysis and findings.
Highly motivated self starter with proven ability to work collaboratively within a team and to deliver on time.
The chosen candidate for this role will be required to undergo enhanced vetting. Subject to local laws, this will require the individual to satisfactorily pass a series of additional checks as part of the recruitment process and on an ongoing basis, if appointed to the role.
