Financial Crime Compliance aligns current activities within Global Risk and helps to build these into a more integrated framework to conduct Customer Due Diligence which enables HSBC to manage financial crime risk more effectively. It builds stronger controls to improve the way Financial Crime Compliance risks are managed in order to spot gaps as well as trends so that the team can take action. It proactively gathers and analyses financial intelligence in a smart way so that suspicious transactions, activities or connections can be identified and we can adequately protect our customers from the threat of financial crime.
We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as Financial Crime Compliance Manager Broking Services Asia Pacific.
Principal responsibilities
  • In support of the Senior Financial Crime Compliance and Regulatory Compliance Manager, the role holder has the responsibility for implementation, of all aspects of Financial Crime Compliance including driving coordination and execution of the various Financial Crime Compliance work streams and assurance, while ensuring alignment with Global Standards.
  • The role requires strong partnership and leadership team, interfaces with both Risk and General Compliance and has responsibility for driving the implementation of policy arising out of Global Standards Committee.
  • The role needs to stay at the forefront of regulatory changes to ensure proactive communication with business and develop appropriate policy and framework to manage the changes in Hong Kong.
  • The role requires strong partnership with business to drive and accelerate the execution of Financial Crime Compliance programmes that directly impact business performance.  This role is accountable for the implementation of Financial Crime Compliance policies in to the business and as such it will require close collaboration with Risk and various business functions.
  • The jobholder has to assist and support Senior Financial Crime Compliance and Regulatory Compliance Manager on Financial Crime Compliance compliance matters to ensure that the business in compliance with all relevant external regulatory requirements, internal codes and policies as well as group standards.
  • The jobholder is primarily responsible for Financial Crime Compliance  matters including providing advice on Financial Crime Compliance to the business and responsible for anti money laundering and Sanctions monitoring and ensuring the business is complying with the local regulatory requirements and Global policy on anti money laundering and Sanctions.
  • Successfully complete Anti-Money Laundering and Sanctions training and post-course assessment, as required


  • University degree with at least relevant experience in securities or financial services industry
  • Independent, good analytical skills in adopting a constructive and proactive approach to changing environment and regulations.
  • Highly motivated with ability to work independently and to deliver high quality work on time
  • Ability to support decisions with sound reasoning and deal with business in a professional manner
  • A Cantonese speaking individual with good Chinese and English language ability is certainly a prerequisite given the operating environment
The chosen candidate for this role will be required to undergo enhanced vetting.
