Financial Crime Compliance aligns current activities within Global Risk and helps to build these into a more integrated framework to conduct Customer Due Diligence which enables HSBC to manage financial crime risk more effectively. It builds stronger controls to improve the way Financial Crime Compliance risks are managed in order to spot gaps as well as trends so that the team can take action. It proactively gathers and analyses financial intelligence in a smart way so that suspicious transactions, activities or connections can be identified and we can adequately protect our customers from the threat of financial crime.
We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as Financial Crime Compliance Central Support Remediation Manager.
Principal responsibilities
  • Support local and regional Financial Crime Compliance teams in their preparation of any Monitor and regulator visits on all deliverables such as requests for documentation, information, presentation decks, files tested, including quality assurance that is in line with the Financial Crime Compliance Central support operating model
  • Conduct forensic reviews on Financial Crime Compliance Central risk in countries as required under the direction of the Regional head of Central Financial Crime Compliance Central support 
  • Support the coordination in conjunction with other Regional, local Financial Crime Compliance Central and Change Risk teams of the tracking and analysis of identified Financial Crime issues and action plans to remediate those issues and support the implementation of program of changes in alignment with Global Standards
  • Support in country or regional Financial Crime Compliance Central teams as staff augmentation as required on any remediation activity as planned in the in the country Financial Crime Compliance Central programme 
  • Act as a SME to support the build of governance to endure sustainability of remediation activities
  • Ensure a proactive approach is taken to identification of financial crime risk within the client portfolio of countries, regions and potential impacts on HSBC in close cooperation with members of the regional, country Financial Crime Compliance shared services and functions
  • Ensure proactive approach is taken to the identification of financial crime risk change and potential impacts on Business Model in the region and or country
  • Development and continuous review for appropriateness of the control framework to monitor financial crime developments impacting the business lines in region and or country
  • Proactive input to support the country implementation plans to quantify impacts and implement actions to address, manage and mitigate impacts of regulatory changes.
  • Support country heads of Financial Crime Compliance in the implementation of Anti Money Laundering, counter proliferation, anti bribery, anti corruption and sanctions policies, controls and systems
  • Provide support to in country Financial Crime Compliance teams on key Financial Crime Compliance issues by ensuring consistency of resolution of critical subjects
  • Provide support to in country Financial Crime Compliance teams as staff augmentation on remediation deliverables
  • Support the Regional Head of Financial Crime Compliance Central Support in discharging his or her responsibilities
  • Liaise with relevant regional and or country stakeholders within Global Business and Functional teams to provide expertise on all Financial Crime Compliance matters
  • Support, as required and interaction with local regulators 
  • Interact with Regional, local Financial Crime Compliance and Regulatory Compliance teams to ensure delivery of Global Standards and other Financial Crime Compliance change programs


  • Extensive Anti money laundering, counter proliferation, Sanctions, anti bribery and corruption expertise
  • Excellent communication and inter personal skills, with experience dealing with executives including the capacity to articulate the case for risk management and policy.
  • Experience in Risk and Operations Management, together with business management
  • Experience dealing with regulatory matters
  • Experience interpreting and analysing a large volume of information and or data to provide succinct summary for management.
  • Experience working within a matrixed environment preferred including reporting internationally.
  • Ability to lead change, contributing to joining up with the other teams in Risk and Business globally.
