As part of Global Risk, Regulatory Compliance ensures adherence to applicable regulations and standards by setting the policies which cover HSBC’s regulatory requirements, and mitigate conduct and reputational risk issues. The team strives to remain ahead of the regulatory change agenda and ensures the business understands the implications and is prepared for change. It monitors how the Global Businesses and Functions manage their responsibilities with regard to complying with the regulations and helps resolve compliance deficiencies.
We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as Director Regulatory Compliance Private Banking.
To discharge the accountabilities set out in the Compliance Officer Handbook by pro-actively assisting management in identifying and containing compliance risk
Fostering a compliance culture and optimizing relations with regulators.
To assist and support the Head of Regulator Compliance Private Banking Hong Kong in advising and supporting management in the overseeing of activities to ensure compliance with all relevant external regulatory requirements and internal codes and policies and implementation of initiatives which fall under the umbrella of Regulatory Compliance Risk and Global Standards.
To perform an advisory role to the relevant businesses, formulating policies and standards to cover compliance issues and to support line management in managing and containing compliance risks by identifying and assessing the risks.
Solid Retail banking or Private banking knowledge and experience is preferred
Experience in working with regulatory bodies and having direct involvement in control aspects of regulatory or product development. Familiarity with Hong Kong regulations
Demonstrates a mature and confident approach with good communication skills and attention to detail.
Strong communications, analytical, interpersonal and organisational skills.
Broad scope of knowledge of the business, including products, operations, systems and organisation.
Detail oriented and highly motivated.
