Financial Crime Compliance aligns current activities within Global Risk and helps to build these into a more integrated framework to conduct Customer Due Diligence which enables HSBC to manage financial crime risk more effectively. It builds stronger controls to improve the way Financial Crime Compliance risks are managed in order to spot gaps as well as trends so that the team can take action. It proactively gathers and analyses financial intelligence in a smart way so that suspicious transactions, activities or connections can be identified and we can adequately protect our customers from the threat of financial crime.
We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as Anti Money Laundering Manager, Quality Assurance.
Responsible for overseeing the effective and compliant implementation and sustainable day to day execution of the Anti Money Laundering Investigations Quality Control Process as set out in the Anti Money Laundering Investigation guidance and procedures
Manage the Anti Money Laundering Quality Control’s escalation process. Validate the Anti Money Laundering Quality Control assessment for escalation cases
Managing the individual Quality Control Reviewers, assigning Level two and Level three cases for review and tracking work progress and managing time requirements
Ensure that the Anti Money Laundering Quality Control team achieve the agreed procedural Quality Control standards required and within agreed service levels
Support and participate in key initiatives from the country and region
Experience in investigative work preferred, ideally including transaction monitoring and customer screening
Working knowledge of Customer Due Diligence and client reviews, including relationship reviews on a periodic or trigger basis
Experience in compilation of reports and Suspicious Activity Reporting experience
Experience in undertaking investigations and analysis into customer activity with the ability to draw inferences from noted behavior, including transactional profile, against expectation established from Customer Due Diligence data
Experience in managing a successful team in a pressured, turnaround time driven environment
Basic knowledge of proceeds of crime legislation, associated Anti Money Laundering regulation and guidance
Good working knowledge of Anti Money Laundering within the financial services industry.
Lateral thinker with an ability to interpret and solve complex issues
Good communicator with strong interpersonal and presentation skills
The chosen candidate for this role will be required to undergo enhanced vetting. Subject to local laws, this will require the individual to satisfactorily pass a series of additional checks as part of the recruitment process and on an ongoing basis, if appointed to the role.
