Job Description

Corporate Finance Manager


1.      Business Development/Corporate Finance

  • Support the Corporate Finance team to evaluate all new business initiatives and project proposals in the Group
  • Assess and examine the underlying assumptions used for the evaluation of potential investment opportunities
  • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial feasibility studies and consider appropriateness of financing assumptions in conjunction with HKL Treasury Department
  • Assist in the evaluation of key commercial terms of all new joint venture agreements and structures
  • Perform financial due diligence on potential investment opportunities


2.      Management reporting

  • Co-ordinate with Business Units to prepare HKL Board papers, Finance Committee papers and Strategy papers, including final editing process


3.      Investor Relations/Research

  • Assist in the preparation of semi-annual results announcements/presentations and Interim Management Statements, including the drafting of Chairman’s Statement, Chief Executive Review and Financial Review, supplementary Question & Answer sections and Corporate Information sections
  • Monitor research coverage on HKL, as well as its key competitor set and partners in Hong Kong, China and Singapore


4.      Ad Hoc Projects

  • Support CFO and Corporate Finance team in ad hoc projects across the Group


5.      Market Information & Regulatory

  • Prepare annual peer review of HKL’s key competitor set and partners
  • Develop understanding of REIT regulations in Hongkong, Singapore and Thailand (as well as any other of HKL’s key markets)
  • Undertake research on HKL’s key geographic markets as required


6.      Tax

  • Develop knowledge of the key tax rules of countries in Greater China and ASEAN, including tax treaties that HKL utilises to minimise cross border tax exposure
  • Understand HKL’s corporate structure and how it relates to HKL’s tax strategy


7.      People Development

  • Work with business managers to enhance their understanding and application of financial analysis and evaluation and understanding of ongoing reporting


  • University degree with a professional accounting/finance qualification
  • Understand accounting principles applicable to real estate companies (IFRS and local HKFRS)
  • Strong analytical, financial modelling and senior management report writing skills
  • Effective communication with good command of spoken and written English and fluent in Putonghua
  • Able to multitask and work under pressure to meet tight deadlines
  • Minimum 10 years of working experience ideally in the real estate industry
