Exhibitions Project Manager

The Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), the statutory organisation promoting Hong Kong’s external trade, seeks dynamic, high-caliber and experienced professionals to join our Exhibitions Department. To strengthen Hong Kong's role as Asia's international business platform, we organise more than 30 world-class international trade fairs in Hong Kong each year.  These fairs, which cover various industries and sectors, create opportunities for companies to promote their products or services to buyers from all over the world.


Reporting to the Manager, Sales, the job-holder is to act as the project manager of assigned projects. Main duties include:

  • To plan and execute the exhibitor recruitment plan in local and worldwide markets to achieve and exceed sales and revenue targets

  • To liaise with external and internal parties, including local and overseas trade/industry associations, other organisers and co-organisers, to develop and implement the projects

  • To coordinate with and to work closely with worldwide sales agents for exhibitor recruitment

  • To develop and maintain good relations with industry players to understand their needs and market trend as well as identify opportunities for promoting further business

  • To expand and upgrade the exhibition by recruiting quality exhibitors and promoting new and interesting products on exhibits

  • To conduct sales activities if necessary such as briefing sessions, sales trips, roadshows, etc.

  • To provide professional and good services to customers


  • A recognised university degree with at least 4 years’ solid working experience, preferably with sizeable organisations, in any of the following areas: sales and marketing; trading; exhibition/event organisation; project management; public/corporate relations; or network/relationship building etc.

  • Good understanding of Hong Kong’s economy, trade and business arena covering key industries and markets as well as opportunities and challenges of SMEs

  • Knowledgeable in electronics, technology and ICT development would be an advantage

  • Excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese, including Putonghua; knowledge of a third language will be an advantage

  • A strong team player with excellent leadership, organisational and interpersonal skills

  • Self-motivated and detail-minded with good project management ability

  • Outgoing and be appreciate to work with people of different cultures

  • Innovative, flexible and be able to deliver under time and resource pressures

  • Willing to work overtime and on weekends or public holidays as necessary

Remuneration and Benefits:

The successful candidate will be offered a two-year contract with prospects for transferring to permanent terms. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience, plus an appropriate contract-end gratuity. Medical benefits and annual leave will be offered.
